States of Perception
These paintings explore the relationship between perception, memory, atmosphere, and inner spatial experience.
Rather than depicting fixed landscapes or recognizable scenes, the works emerge through layered observations, fragments of color, shifting light, traces, and intuitive gestures gathered from both the external world and internal perception.
Organic forms, linear structures, shadows, and atmospheric fields gradually dissolve into fluid visual spaces, where memory, sensation, and environment begin to merge.
Through this series, Pan Deng approaches painting not as the representation of a specific place, but as a shifting perceptual experience — quiet, intuitive, psychological, and continuously evolving.
